Navy Capability Infrastructure Subprogram - 3 (NCIS-3) Building Works Stage 1

The project will provide the first stage of essential, land-based
facilities and infrastructure requirements at HMAS Stirling
(Garden Island) and Henderson, Western Australia, primarily
to support the introduction into service of the Maritime
Operational Support Capability (MOSC), the Arafura Class
Offshore Patrol Vessel (ACOPV) and the Hunter Class Frigate
(HCF).

NEW ENGLAND SOLAR FARM

UPC/AC through the EPC Contractor, Green Light Contractors, is constructing stage one of a 720
megawatt (MW) solar farm across two separate solar fields near Uralla in the New England region of
NSW. The project will convert energy from solar radiation into electrical energy to be fed into the
electricity grid. Rows of solar photovoltaic (PV) Panels will be installed on a single axis tracking system
that follows the path of the sun.

New Maitland Hospital

Multiplex were awarded to provide design services and carry out early works of New Maitland Hospital. The site is located at Metford, NSW

The New Maitland Hospital will provide the infrastructure required to adequately meet the anticipated growth in demand and enhance an integrated patient journey from acute, subacute and ambulatory care services

New Nightcliff Police Station

Halikos Construction has recently been awarded the Design and Construction of the New Nightcliff Police Station at John Stokes Square, Nightcliff.

New Performing Arts Venue (NPAV)

The new minimum 1500 capacity theatre will be designed by Blight Rayner + Snøhetta and constructed by Lendlease.

Drawing inspiration from the Brisbane River as an important meeting place for telling stories, the design respects the heritage listed Queensland Cultural Centre while creating a new place with its own identity.

Key features of the design include:

• Two new studio spaces located below street level visible from Russell Street and the main foyer.

• Large foyer spaces

• A single balcony auditorium delivering enhanced audience sight lines.

Design of the new theatre has been guided by the Conservation Management Plan commissioned by Arts Queensland and developed by heritage consultants.

The Department of Housing and Public Works (DHPW) is the project principal/client and Lendlease has been appointed as the managing contractor for Stage 1 of the New Performing Arts Venue project which includes detailed design and early works.

New Youth Justice Centre

Nolans Project

Arafura's development of the Nolans Rare Earths Project will encompass a Mine, Beneficiation Plant, Extraction Plant and related infrastructure to be constructed and located at the Nolans site in the Northern Territory, and a Separation Plant to be constructed and located within an established chemical industry precinct at an offshore location, South Korea currently being considered. The Nolans site is located on Aileron Station, approximately 135 kilometres NNW of Alice Springs.

North East Link

The Multi-Tactical Data Link Network (MTN) also known as the Joint Data Network (JDN) Sub Program will upgrade and support mission critical systems of the ADF MTN and associated facilities to enable ADF command and control for single service, joint and multi-national operations. Pathway to 144 Mental Health Beds Project

The Pathway to 144 Mental Health Beds Project (the Project) is a direct response to the recommendations arising from the Interim Report of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System dated November 2019, which called for an additional 144 acute inpatient public mental health beds, of which 120 will be delivered under the Contract, to help address critical pressures within the mental health system in Victoria. The remainder (24 beds) to be delivered as part of a Hospital in the Home (HITH) service solution, which are not part of the work under the Contract.

Pilbara Generation Project

Plenary Health - New Footscray Hospital Public Private Partnership (Bid Phase)

The Victorian Government has committed up to $1.5 billion to build a new, 504 bed hospital at 89 Ballarat Road, Footscray to replace the existing Footscray hospital and ensure that the people of Melbourne’s west have greater access to quality care closer to home, when it opens in 2025. This project will be delivered by the Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority (VHHSBA) in partnership with Western Health to be procured as an availability Public Private Partnership (PPP), delivered under the Partnerships Victoria Framework.

Pluto LNG Train 2

Woodside Petroleum Ltd., Perth, has let a contract to Bechtel for the front-end engineering design stage for the Pluto LNG Train 2 project on the Burrup Peninsula of Western Australia.

FEED work includes activities needed to finalize the costs and technical definition for the proposed second train at the onshore facility.

The contract also includes an option for Woodside to progress to a lump-sum engineering, procurement, and construction contract for execute phase work. This option is subject to many conditions including a positive final investment decision expected in 2020. The project is expected to come on stream in 2024

Port Botany Rail Line Duplication (including Cabramatta Loop) Project

The Project’s objectives are to:

  • Increase rail capacity to meet forecast demand for freight services;
  • Accommodate port shuttle services to move more containers in and out of the port via rail;
  • Reduce road congestion, heavy vehicle road safety incidents, and road maintenance expenditure;
  • Reduce rail congestion between Port Botany and intermodals;
  • Provide operational flexibility flowing from reduced congestion and increased capacity;
  • Improve service reliability for freight rail customers through enhanced train movements and connectivity; and
  • Reduce air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and noise from diversion of freight from road.
Project Marinus

TasNetworks, on behalf of the State of Tasmania and the Australian Government, is progressing investigation into the proposed 1500 megawatt (MW) high voltage direct current (HVDC) electricity interconnector between Tasmania and Victoria, known as ‘Marinus Link’. Marinus Link will be supported by an augmented Tasmanian transmission network as part of the North West Transmission Developments. Collectively, these developments are known as Project Marinus. The Link will also incorporate significant optical fibre capacity, strengthening telecommunications and data connectivity and providing additional route paths between Tasmania and Victoria.

Project Sea Dragon

Project Sea Dragon is a large-scale, integrated, land-based prawn aquaculture project in northern Australia designed to produce high-quality and reliable supply of Black Tiger Prawns year round for domestic and export markets. Ultimately, PSD has the potential to be expanded to approximately 10,000 ha of grow out ponds generating 130,000 to 180,000 tonnes per annum of Black Tiger Prawns (BTP).

Queen's Wharf Brisbane

A new world-class integrated resort development is being constructed that will put Brisbane on the map as a tourism, leisure and entertainment destination.


Expected to open in 2022, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane (QWB) will transform the Central Business District and river’s edge with an iconic design that embraces Brisbane’s inviting subtropical climate and celebrates the precinct’s Indigenous and European heritage with interpretive trails and experiences spanning the Brisbane River and ridgeline. 


Destination Brisbane Consortium is the joint venture delivering the $3.6 billion development. The joint venture partners include The Star Entertainment Group (formerly Echo Entertainment Group), Far East Consortium (International) and Chow Tai Fook.

Queen's Wharf Brisbane - Foreshore South (Waterline Park and Goodwill Extension)

The Waterline Park and Goodwill Extension project involves the redevelopment and beautification of the Brisbane River Foreshore between the Goodwill Bridge and area behind 1 William Street and includes:


  • Upgrades to the Bicentennial Bikeway
  • Construction of a recreational park
  • Construction of a mangrove walk and accompanying pontoon and gangway.

Regional Rail Fleet Project


Momentum Trains has been contracted to deliver the NSW Government’s Regional Rail Project that involves building a new fleet to replace the ageing NSW regional rail fleet of XPT, XPLORER and Endeavour trains. As part of the project, Momentum Trains will design and construct a Maintenance Facility in Dubbo and is responsible for maintaining the trains for at least 15 years of service.


Momentum Trains is an international consortium comprising CAF, UGL Rail Services, Pacific Partnerships, CAF Investment Projects and DIF Infrastructure V Coöperatief. CPB is a subcontractor to CAF to construct the Maintenance Facility.

The asset management services to be provided by UGL Rail Services for the Regional Rail Project will consist of:

  • provision of maintenance services to maintain a 117-carriage fleet (built by CAF) which are anticipated for operation from 2023:
  • provision of maintenance services of a newly built maintenance facility (built by CPB) located in Dubbo, NSW commencing approx. Q1          2022


The duration of the maintenance services will be up to 15 years with options to extend.

The new trains will improve safety, comfort, accessibility and reliability for customers who travel from Sydney to many regional centres in NSW, as well as Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Rheinmetall Defence Australia - Land 400 Phase 3 Program


Rheinmetall Defence Australia is focused on securing the Land 400 Phase 3 program, the supply of 400 Infantry Fighting Vehicles to the Commonwealth.  By the time LAND 400 Phase 3 is contracted, the MILVEHCOE and its supporting national military vehicle industry network of Australian suppliers will be qualified for all of the common systems and components required for the Rheinmetall LYNX and LANCE solution. This national approach will directly reduce the total cost of ownership for Defence, create long term highly skilled regional jobs, and deliver enduring economic benefit through a strong sovereign military vehicle industry.

Rheinmetall NIOA Munitions - Maryborough Forge Facility

Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH (RWM) and NIOA will establish an advanced forging and manufacturing facility in Maryborough, Queensland.

Rio Tinto Gove Closure Program
Number of work packages : 1

In 2017, Rio Tinto announced the closure of the Gove Alumina Refinery and associated Residue Disposal Area (RDA), located in the remote region of North East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory.


Since this time, detailed studies have been undertaken to determine a process to safely remove the infrastructure located at the refinery and to rehabilitate the RDA. The Gove closure program is one of Rio Tinto’s largest and most complete projects. Focused on safe execution, activities will also strive to optimise social, economic and cultural opportunities for the region.

Rollingstock Expansion Program

Rookwood Weir and Associated Infrastructure Project

The Rookwood Weir and Associated Infrastructure project involves the construction of a new water storage facility on the Fitzroy River, approximately 66 kilometres south-west of Rockhampton in Central Queensland. The development was identified in the Central Queensland Regional Water Supply Strategy to help meet future urban agricultural and industrial water demand in Rockhampton, Gladstone and the Capricorn Coast.

Santos Northern Territory Operations

Australian-owned natural gas company Santos is operator of three exploration permits - EP 161, 162 and 189 - in the Northern Territory’s McArthur Basin and Beetaloo Sub-basin, east and north-east of Daly Waters.

Scarborough Project

Woodside is proposing to develop the Scarborough gas resource through new offshore facilities connected through an approximately 430 km pipeline to a proposed brownfield expansion of the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility (Pluto Train 2 Project). The proposed offshore development, referred to as the Scarborough Project, is to initially develop the Scarborough gas field with up to seven subsea, high-rate gas wells, tied back to a semi-submersible floating production unit (FPU) moored in 900 metres of water close to the Scarborough field. The Scarborough Project is an integral part of Woodside’s Burrup Hub vision for a regional gas hub which will secure economic growth and local employment opportunities for Western Australia for decades to come.

Shell Prelude FLNG

The Prelude FLNG Development is located in the Browse Basin, approximately 475km north-north east of Broome, in Western Australia. The Prelude natural gas field was discovered by Shell in 2007 and in 2009 Shell discovered more gas nearby, in a reservoir known as Concerto. The Prelude FLNG will produce 3.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate and 0.4 mtpa of LPG. The Prelude FLNG facility will be 488 metres long, and 74 meters wide. It will weigh more than 600,000 tonnes fully ballasted and with the cargo tanks full.

The Shiploader and Berth Replacement project is a brownfields project located within the lease boundaries of the existing Hay Point Coal Terminal at the port of Hay Point, approximately 38 kilometres south of Mackay, Central Queensland. The project includes the disassembly and replacement of one of the existing Shiploaders and Berths to improve materials handling throughput and provide cyclonic wave immunity to terminal operations.

Signature Onfarm

Signature Onfarm is a unique, greenfield, 5,500sqm beef processing facility being built to strengthen the value chain in the local Moranbah region of Central Queensland. Personnel will be able to reside on-property in a 70-person  maximum, rural accommodation village with support services.

The project will involve underground excavation and tunneling works between Tantangara and Talbingo dams to depths of up to one kilometre. There will be surface works in several locations including intake-outlet structures at Talbingo and Tantangara dams, surge shafts and tunnel portal sites.

Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage 2

In June 2019 Queensland Government announced plans to build a new 1000 bed men’s prison near Gatton with the $653M facility planned for completion in 2023. The Stage 2 expansion will address overcrowding across the correctional system in Queensland, improve safety of correctional officers and prisoners and deliver economic boost and additional jobs during both construction and operation


South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication

Rail Projects Victoria (a division of the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority) has called for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the Head Contractor for the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication Project (the Project) in January 2021.

The Project is the next stage of investment on the Geelong Line that will upgrade infrastructure between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds to enable more frequent and reliable services for passengers.

Spark - North East Link Project (Bid Phase)

Spark is a multi-national consortium featuring three of the world’s leading construction companies and one of the largest road and tunnel operators in Australia. Spark is one of three consortia that have been shortlisted to bid on the North East Link (NEL). The consortium's design and construct joint venture (D&C JV) consists of Salini Impregilo, China State Construction, and GS Engineering and Construction and their operations and maintenance (O&M) contractor is Broadspectrum Australia. Capella Capital and John Laing are supporting the financing and development.

Star of the South - Offshore Wind Project

The Star of the South is Australia’s first offshore wind project, proposed to be located off the south coast of Gippsland, Victoria.


The project would provide large-scale, renewable electricity generation to support Victoria’s energy transition, as well as jobs and investment for Victoria.


At 2.2 GW, it would be one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world, generating enough electricity to power up to 1.2 million homes and provide around 20 percent of Victoria’s electricity needs.


The proposed offshore wind farm would transmit electricity via offshore cables and onshore underground transmission cables to an existing terminal station in the Latrobe Valley.


The project is being progressed by a local Victorian-based team with investment from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) – a world leader in offshore wind development.

Svitzer - Northern Territory Operations

Svitzer is part of the Maersk group and are proud to be part of the Svitzer fleet of more than 430 vessels and operations all over the world. Svitzer’s Darwin operation has 53 employees operating 6 ASD tugs providing terminal towage services to the Santos Darwin LNG and Inpex Ichthys LNG Terminals, as well as harbour towage services within Darwin Port. Total tug moves are in excess of 2000 jobs per annum.

Systems Connect is an unincorporated Joint Venture between CIMIC Group companies, CPB Contractors and UGL.

The Joint Venture has been contracted to design and construct the Line-wide works to convert the excavated tunnel into a working railway for Sydney Metro City & Southwest.

This will help deliver the new world-class Sydney Metro, expanding the city’s new metro railway into the CBD and beyond to Bankstown.

The Waterloo integrated station development includes construction of the new Waterloo metro station by John Holland while a joint venture between John Holland and Mirvac will deliver the Waterloo Metro Quarter, including four buildings above and next to the station. The development will be a catalyst for significant urban renewal bringing new opportunities for work, living and transport connections.

Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract - Harbour Zone (New)

Transport for NSW’s Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contracts (SRAPC) aim to establish a ‘whole of asset life’ approach to road maintenance and construction. The project is taking a network-wide approach to improve customers’ experiences through better connectivity, integrated services and enhanced use of capacity. This 9 to 15 year maintenance contract period will cover routine maintenance, tactical projects and refurbishment works.

TAFE Gippsland Port of Sale Campus Development

This new state-of-the-art facility will provide education and training for a range of disciplines that will meet industry and community needs and provide greater access to training for students across the region. Constructed over two levels, the Port of Sale campus will include learning spaces inclusive of general and specialist teaching spaces, administration, student café and a trades training workshop. The workshop incorporates specialist auto, engineering and carpentry workshops.

Talison Lithium Greenbushes Expansion

Talison Lithium Australia Pty Ltd is to expand the existing Greenbushes Lithium Mine, to increase the production of spodumene ore and lithium mineral concentrate from the operation.



Tanami Expansion 2 (TE2) Project

Newmont Goldcorp has mine operations located in the Tanami Desert of the Northern Territory of Australia. These operations comprise the Granites Processing plant, located 560 km north-west of Alice Springs and 940 km south west of Darwin and Dead Bullock Soak (DBS), located 42 km to the west of The Granites Processing Plant. The TE 2 project aims to provide a deepening and expansion of the Callie Underground Mine at DBS to access ore at depth and increase production to 3.2 million tonnes per annum.

TfNSW Regional Rail

CAF’s role in the Regional Rail Project consists of delivering 29 trains and associated depot equipment for the new purpose built Maintenance Facility to be constructed in Dubbo.

The new train carriages will be predominantly manufactured in Spain, with final fit out works occurring in Dubbo.


The City of Greater Geelong Civic Accommodation Precinct

Featuring an innovative and sustainable composite cross laminated timber, concrete and structural steel design, the new Civic Precinct will bring together staff from seven Geelong offices to drive collaboration, reduce costs, and future-proof the city’s workplace needs. The 6-storey building will include extensive landscape & active public spaces, commercial fit out for co-working spaces, retail and food tenancies, and end-of-trip facilities. Social investment is a major component of this development, including engagement with G21 Regional Opportunities for Work (GROW) to ensure disadvantaged areas benefit from procurement and local employment opportunities created by the project. The partnership is also committed to meaningful ongoing engagement with Traditional Owners and local Aboriginal community.

The CRUX Project

Located approximately 600km north of Broome and 160km north east of the Prelude FLNG Facility, the current concept for the Crux project is a Not Normally Manned (NNM) platform containing minimal processing facilities, utility systems and accommodation.

It will be operated remotely from the Prelude FLNG facility and only require periodic maintenance visits, significantly reducing the operational safety exposure to staff. It will be tied back to Prelude via an export pipeline. An initial five production wells are proposed to be drilled.

The Crux project will be operated by Shell in joint venture with SGH Energy (15%) and Osaka Gas (3%).

The Northern Hospital Inpatient Unit Stage 2 Expansion

The Northern Road Upgrade - Stage 3 North

The Australian and NSW governments are upgrading The Northern Road as part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan (WSIP), a 10 year $3.6B road investment program. The Stage 3 North upgrade covers about 4km between Glenmore Parkway, Glenmore Park and Jamison Road, South Penrith, and includes a new bridge over the M4 motorway. 

The Solar River Project

The Victorian Government's Non-Government Schools Capital Fund Project

The Victorian Government has committed $402 million over the next four years to upgrade and build new, catholic and independent schools across the state. This funding will be allocated over four grant rounds, with approximately $100 million worth of grants allocated in each round.

Tiwi Partners: A Pirntubula-Sitzler Joint Venture

Tweed Valley Hospital Development

The new Tweed Valley Hospital will be a brand new, state-of-the-art hospital on a greenfield site that will be a centerpiece of the health infrastructure strategy for the Tweed-Byron Local Government Areas. The new Tweed Valley Hospital will provide more beds, an expanded emergency department, enhanced surgical and medical services, enhanced ambulatory services and outpatient clinics, and the introduction of new services with a cardiac catheterisation laboratory and an integrated cancer care service including radiotherapy.


USFPI Northern Territory Training Areas & Ranges Project

The NT Training Areas and Ranges Project seeks to upgrade and expand the existing facilities at Robertson Barracks Close Training Area (RBTA), Kangaroo Flats Training Area (KFTA), Mt Bundey Training Area (MBTA); and Bradshaw Field Training Area (BFTA) to support the United States Forces Posture Initiative (USFPI) within the Territory.

Voith Snowy 2.0

Voith has been awarded a contract to equip the Australian pumped storage power station Snowy 2.0, one of the largest pumped storage basins worldwide, with electrical and mechanical power plant components and including three innovative variable-speed pump turbines. Snowy 2.0 will underpin Australia's renewable energy future. The power plant is one of the largest of its kind in the world.

Wamboin, Bywong and Sutton Network Services

Regional Digital Connectivity Program is a $400 million commitment from the NSW Government to provide faster, more reliable, affordable widespread digital coverage to regional NSW. Gig State is the first project under this program which seeks to bridge the ‘digital divide’ between regional and metropolitan NSW by investing in digital connectivity infrastructure to provide metropolitan equivalent services to regional residents and businesses

Warragul Campus

A major multi-million dollar upgrade to our Warragul campus will deliver a better student and staff experience in fit-for-purpose facilities. It will assist TAFE Gippsland in meeting the growing student demand for vocational training in the Warragul and Drouin peri-urban growth corridor.

Western Ridge Project

BHP Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) is currently studying options for the greenfield development of the Western Ridge site, adjacent to Mt Whaleback.


BHP WAIO is seeking expressions of interest from contractors experienced in delivering greenfield projects under a Design & Construct or Engineering, Procurement & Construction model.

West Gate Tunnel

The Victorian Government is partnering with Transurban to build the $5.5 billion Western Distributor Project, which includes the Monash Freeway Upgrade and upgrades to Webb Dock.

WestWind Energy - Golden Plains Wind Farm
Number of work packages : 1

Located near the town of Rokewood in the Victorian Golden Plains Shire, the Golden Plains wind farm will generate approximately 3000 gigawatt hours each year, from 228 wind turbines.

The installed capacity is expected to be approximately 800 megawatts. The entire site area is 17,345 hectares, with wind farm infrastructure covering approximately 1% of the site.

The Planning Permit Application is currently in progress.


Wonthaggi Hospital Expansion Project

Wonthaggi Hospital, located approximately 135kms south-east of Melbourne is undergoing expansion to service a rapidly growing and ageing local population. The project has received State Government funding to construct a new emergency department, a new inpatient ward, new operating theatres and a procedure room.
